About Frances Marcellin Art & Illustration

About This Art Shop

Hello – I'm so glad you're here.

I'm Fran Marcellin, a British illustrator and artist living in the French countryside with my husband and four children. Nearly twenty years ago, I moved to France, compelled by the beauty and tranquility of the countryside, slower rhythms and sense of connection to nature that continue to shape my work today.

Before art and illustration became my full-time creative practice, I spent twenty years working in film and national journalism, writing and creating content for publications and organisations including New Scientist, CNN, The Telegraph, the Evening Standard and ZDNet.

This year my work has been longlisted for the World Illustration Awards, marking an important milestone in my return to illustration after two decades working in journalism and film.

This shop marks a return to something more grounded and personal: a lifelong love of drawing, storytelling and visual expression.

My work explores nature, childhood, humour and human experience through illustration-led prints, homeware and everyday objects designed to bring meaning and colour into everyday spaces.

Alongside joyful and nature-inspired work, I also create pieces responding to injustice, humanitarian issues and the world around us – because art and illustration is connection and healing in a difficult world.

Everything here begins as original artwork created in my small studio in rural France.

Thank you for supporting an independent artist and small creative business. It genuinely means a great deal.
